COURSE CURRICULUM
The Mechatronics and Robotics diploma program is a comprehensive two-year curriculum consisting of four levels and totaling 138.0 credits. Designed to blend mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering, the program equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to design, build, and maintain intelligent electromechanical systems. In Level 1 (15 weeks), students are introduced to foundational topics such as technical writing, DC circuit analysis, digital techniques, technical math, computer-aided design (CAD), and introductory physics, laying the groundwork for mechatronics concepts. Level 2 (20 weeks) builds on this foundation with advanced studies in AC circuits, digital and electronic circuits, calculus, manufacturing processes, applied physics, and C programming, all of which are essential for developing integrated systems. In Level 3 (15 weeks), students focus on core mechatronics components and systems, with courses in electronic circuits, transform calculus and statistics, fluid power, robot applications, automation equipment, and controller systems. This level emphasizes the application of electronics and mechanics in automated and robotic systems. Level 4 (20 weeks) prepares students for industry or further education through advanced topics such as feedback systems, sensor interfacing, PLC applications, and industrial engineering. A significant component of this level is the Mechatronics Project, where students apply their accumulated skills in a hands-on, integrated capstone project. Courses in ethics and technical writing further round out the curriculum, ensuring students are professionally and ethically prepared. With a strong balance of theory, practical lab work, and project-based learning, this program prepares graduates for a wide range of careers in industries such as automation, robotics, medical devices, and manufacturing. It also provides pathways to pursue an engineering degree through advanced placement options. The program is ideal for those seeking to work at the intersection of mechanics, electronics, and computing in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.
