COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering Technology (Mechanical Design Option) program consists of four levels delivered over two years, totaling 134.0 credits. Level 2 builds upon this foundation with Engineering Materials 2 (CHSC 2205), Calculus for Mechanical (MATH 2491), Manufacturing Processes (MECH 1210), Engineering Graphics 2 (MECH 2202), Strength of Materials (MECH 2240), Dynamics (MECH 2241), and Physics for Mechanical (PHYS 2149). In Level 3, students specialize further with courses including Fluid Mechanics (MECH 3325), Mechatronics & Measurement Systems (MECH 3330), Machine Design 1 (MECH 3340), Computer-Aided Engineering (MECH 3346), Fluid Power (MECH 3356), and Engineering Management (MECH 3360), alongside either Statistics for Technologists (MATH 3494) for diploma students or Ordinary Differential Equations and Linear Systems (MATH 3499) for degree-bound students. Level 4 emphasizes advanced concepts and project-based learning with Technical Communication 2 (COMM 2269), Electrical Equipment (ELEX 2845), Ethics for Technologists (MECH 0460), Thermal Engineering (MECH 4422), Machine Design 2 (MECH 4440), Automation and Robotics (MECH 4452), and a capstone Engineering Design Project (MECH 4490).
