COURSE CURRICULUM

The Geomatics Engineering Technology diploma program spans four levels over two years, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills across 124.5 credits. In Level 1, students build foundational skills in technical communication, field surveying, surveying computations, CAD, trigonometry, statistics, and physics tailored to geomatics, totaling 29 credits. Level 2 deepens understanding of earth and ocean sciences, advanced field surveying, surveying computations, CAD, calculus, and physics, with an emphasis on applying mathematical principles to surveying tasks, totaling 39 credits. In Level 3, the focus shifts to advanced surveying techniques such as laser scanning and reality capture technologies, computer programming, geodesy, photogrammetry, and matrix methods with ordinary differential equations, providing 27 credits. Level 4 centers on integrating knowledge through a comprehensive field survey capstone project alongside courses in advanced technical communication, remote sensing and GIS, cadastral studies, land use planning, engineering surveying, geodetic positioning, map projections, and error theory, summing to 29.5 credits. Throughout the program, students progressively develop expertise in precise land measurement, data processing, spatial analysis, and modern surveying technologies. The curriculum balances mathematics, physics, and technical skills essential for geomatics professionals, preparing graduates to excel in diverse fields such as construction, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and infrastructure development.
