COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Communications and Wireless Technology program is structured over four academic terms, totaling 138.0 credits, and combines theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on experience. In Term 1, students build foundational skills through courses in Technical Skills, DC Circuits, AC Circuits, Analog Electronics, and Digital Electronics, each providing a strong base in electrical and electronic principles. Term 2 expands into networking and telecommunications, covering Network Essentials, Structured Cabling, Telecommunications Essentials, and introduces RF Principles 1, Routing and Wireless Networks, Linux Fundamentals, and Voice Networks. This term emphasizes the integration of physical infrastructure with modern digital communication systems. Term 3 focuses on advanced applications, including Professional Skills, Enterprise Networking and Security, RF Principles 2, Transmission Lines and Antennas, and Navigation and Location technologies, equipping students with industry-relevant technical and soft skills. In the final term, students deepen their expertise with Fiber Optics and Telecommunications Design, VoIP Systems, Wide Area Network Design and Maintenance, Managing Connected Devices, and RF Applications. The program concludes with a Practicum, providing real-world experience in a professional setting. This comprehensive curriculum ensures graduates are well-prepared to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of communication systems, including fiber optics, RF systems, wireless networks, VoIP, and more.
