COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Information Technology (CIT) Diploma program spans four levels and includes a comprehensive curriculum totaling 113 credits. Level 1 introduces foundational concepts such as systems administration, scripting, web technologies, database systems, business communications, technical math, and organizational behavior. Students starting in January complete additional courses like Agile Development and Legal and Ethical Issues in IT after Level 1. Level 2 advances students’ skills with courses in Linux system administration, object-oriented programming, web application development, enterprise networking, business systems analysis, advanced business communication, and IT statistics, followed by the same Agile Development and Legal courses for January starters. Level 3 builds expertise in Windows server administration, cloud computing, IT service and project management, applied algorithms, database administration, and includes a practicum for hands-on IT project experience. Level 4 covers advanced IT infrastructure topics, service-based architectures, information assurance and security, system and network provisioning, enterprise system integration, and introduces data analytics. Students also have the option to complete one of two IT practicum courses or, for those in co-op, participate in competitive work terms between Levels 3 and 4 through two cooperative education work terms. This curriculum equips students with a strong foundation and practical experience across a wide range of IT disciplines, preparing them for successful careers in technology fields with a blend of theoretical knowledge, hands-on learning, and real-world industry exposure.
