COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biomedical Engineering Technology program spans multiple levels over approximately two years, comprising a total of 136.5 credits. Level 1 introduces students to foundational knowledge with courses in anatomy and physiology, electronic principles, technical communication, computer architecture, technical math, and physics, totaling 30 credits. Level 2B is a condensed five-week term emphasizing hands-on technical skills, workshops, and seminars, offering practical experience in electrical and mechanical applications, and totaling 8.5 credits. Level 3 deepens technical competence with courses in advanced electronics, biomedical device technology, medical device standards, healthcare computer networks, microcontrollers, and general and organic chemistry, totaling 31 credits. Level 4A focuses on specialized areas, including medical imaging, project work, advanced device technology, biochemistry and instrumental analysis, interprofessional patient care, statistics, and electronic image displays, totaling 26 credits. The final component, Level 4B, is a five-week practicum where students gain real-world experience in the biomedical engineering field, contributing 7 credits.
