COURSE CURRICULUM

The New Media Design and Web Development Diploma program spans five terms, totaling 114 credits, and offers a comprehensive curriculum that builds students’ creative and technical skills progressively. In Term 1, students are introduced to foundational courses such as Digital Photography, Web Services and File Management, Web Technologies, New Media Communications, Graphic Design, Storytelling, Photoshop for New Media, Information Architecture, and legal aspects of new media, setting the stage for understanding both creative content and technical infrastructure. Term 2 expands skillsets with courses like Mobile Web, Social Media Networking, Project Management, Illustration, Animation, Web Scripting, UI/UX Strategy, Video Storytelling, and Digital Layouts, emphasizing both design and interactive media development. Term 3 delves deeper into motion graphics, new technologies, web design and interaction, advanced web scripting, app development strategies, UI/UX strategy, and new media marketing, as well as portfolio development to prepare students for professional presentation. Term 4 focuses on enterprise and operations in new media, online store development, advanced web scripting, app development, career preparation, quality assurance, and internship readiness, ensuring students gain practical business and technical insights alongside their creative skills. Finally, Term 5 consists of a substantial 12-credit internship, allowing students to apply their accumulated knowledge and skills in a real-world setting, gaining valuable industry experience. This program structure is designed to equip graduates with a robust blend of design, development, management, and marketing abilities essential for thriving in the fast-evolving new media industry.
