COURSE CURRICULUM

The Category E Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program is structured over four terms, totaling 136 credits and spanning approximately 68 weeks. Term 1, lasting 17 weeks, includes foundational courses such as Standard Aviation Practices (8 credits), Structures and Theory of Flight (8 credits), Direct Current Theory (10 credits), and Alternating Current Theory (8 credits). These courses establish a strong base in aviation principles, electrical theory, and aircraft structure. Term 2, which is 18 weeks long, focuses on more advanced electrical and aircraft systems knowledge, with courses including Analog Theory (6 credits), Digital Theory (6 credits), Propulsion Systems (6 credits), Aircraft Systems (8 credits), and Electrical Power and Distribution (10 credits). Term 3, lasting 17 weeks, covers critical avionics and communication skills through Flight Instruments (6 credits), Radio Theory (8 credits), Aircraft Communications (10 credits), and Navigation System 1 (10 credits). These courses prepare students to handle complex aircraft electronics and navigation equipment. The final term, Term 4, spans 16 weeks and includes Navigation Systems 2 (8 credits), Flight Line Maintenance (6 credits), Automatic Flight Control Systems (4 credits), and Installation and CARs (14 credits), which address installation practices and regulatory requirements.
