COURSE CURRICULUM

The Commercial Rotary-Wing Pilot Diploma program is structured over three terms totaling 57 weeks and 113.5 credits. Term 1 spans 19 weeks and includes foundational courses such as Introduction to Airport and Airside Operations (4 credits), Occupational Health and Safety in Aviation (2 credits), and Introduction to Safety Management Systems (3 credits). Students also study the basics of the airline industry and aviation communication skills, including Crew Resource Management (2 credits), technical writing (2 credits), and courses to enhance student success (2 credits). The term further includes Private Pilot Ground School 1 and 2 (3 and 4 credits) alongside flight training (4 and 5.5 credits), and Meteorology for Private Pilots (1.5 credits).Term 2 runs for 13 weeks and deepens aviation knowledge with courses such as Air Navigation and Air Traffic Services (3 credits), Leadership in Aviation (3 credits), Aviation Safety and Risk Management (4 credits), and Community and Public Relations for Aviation (3 credits). It also covers airline ground handling procedures, licensing, meteorology for commercial pilots, security systems, aircraft maintenance, and survival skills, totaling 23.5 credits.Term 3 is the longest at 25 weeks, focusing on commercial rotary-wing training with 76 credits. It includes Crew Resource Management 1 (3 credits), three progressive Commercial Rotary-Wing Ground Schools (6, 3, and 6 credits), and multiple Commercial Rotary Flight courses (6, 3, 6, 6, and 6 credits). The term concludes with Rotary Flight Licensing (4 credits) and Aviation Career Planning (1 credit).
