COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aircraft Gas Turbine Technician program is structured over three terms, totaling 38 weeks and 76 credits. Term 1, lasting 16 weeks, focuses on foundational skills with courses such as Engine Shop Practices and Turbine Engine Theory, Construction and Systems, each worth 15 credits. Students also take Precision Measuring Instruments and Compressor Blade Inspection and Repair, both one-credit courses. Term 2 also spans 16 weeks and includes advanced repair and overhaul courses: Repair and Overhaul Practices 1 and 2, each valued at 15 credits. Additionally, students complete two one-credit courses, Turbine Engine Borescope Inspection and Turbine Engine Bearing Inspection. These specialized courses contribute to earning the Gas Turbine Inspection Essentials microcredential upon successful completion. The final term, Term 3, is six weeks long and centers on Operation, Testing and Certification with an 11-credit course, alongside a one-credit Turbine Engine Testing and Operation course. Attendance is mandatory throughout the program. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge and hands-on training, preparing students to inspect, repair, overhaul, and test turbine engines in a real-world aerospace environment. This comprehensive structure equips graduates with the technical expertise and certifications required to meet industry standards and excel as gas turbine engine technicians.
