The BCIT Front-End Web Development Certificate program offers a comprehensive curriculum structured across 50 credits, designed to equip students with the practical and technical skills needed to launch a career in web development. The program begins with foundational courses such as Web Development 1 (FWDP 1000), where students learn HTML and CSS, and Web Design Fundamentals (FWDP 1100), which introduces visual design principles. UX Fundamentals (FWDP 1200) teaches user experience concepts essential for building intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. Web Scripting 1 (FWDP 1400) dives into JavaScript programming, enabling students to add interactivity to websites. As students progress, Web Development 2 (FWDP 2000) builds on core development skills, while Web Design Process (FWDP 2200) and Managing Web Projects (FWDP 2300) focus on project planning, team collaboration, and design workflows. Advanced scripting continues in Web Scripting 2 (FWDP 2400) and Web Scripting 3 (FWDP 3400), where learners apply JavaScript frameworks such as React. Content Management Systems (FWDP 3600) introduces platforms like WordPress, while Online Stores (FWDP 3700) explores e-commerce site creation.
