COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cabinetmaker (Joinery) Foundation program consists of a single required course, JOIN 1300 Cabinetmaker (Joinery) Foundation Harmonized, which carries a total of 50 credits. This comprehensive course covers all foundational skills and knowledge necessary for entry into the cabinetmaking trade. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education in woodworking techniques, including blueprint reading, machine operation, assembly, and finishing processes. The program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning combined with essential theoretical instruction, enabling students to develop the core competencies needed for success in various woodworking specialties such as cabinetry, architectural millwork, furniture making, and store fixture manufacturing. Completion of this course also grants students credit for level one apprenticeship technical training, along with recognition of 475 work-based hours toward their apprenticeship requirements.
