COURSE CURRICULUM

The Power Engineering program is divided into two levels, providing students with a comprehensive education in power plant operations, maintenance, and theory. Level 1 spans 18 weeks and includes courses such as Power Plant Training 1, Power Plant Operations and Systems 1, Drafting, Power Plant Theory 1, General Electricity 1, Power Plant Maintenance 1, Instrumentation 1, and General Mathematics, totaling 31.5 credits. These foundational courses introduce students to essential concepts and skills needed for working in power plants, covering everything from electrical fundamentals to plant operations and maintenance. Level 2 extends over 20 weeks and builds on the first level with more advanced coursework, including Power Plant Training 2, Power Plant Operations and Systems 2, Power Plant Theory 2, General Electricity 2, Power Plant Maintenance 2, Instrumentation 2, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Applied Science, and Business Writing. This level totals 46 credits and focuses on refining students’ technical abilities while introducing applied science principles and communication skills essential for the workplace. Together, both levels provide a total of 77.5 credits. The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and hands-on experience required to operate and maintain industrial power plants safely and efficiently. Graduates will be prepared to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, helping them pursue certification and careers in power engineering across various industrial sectors.
