Briercrest College and Seminary is a private evangelical post-secondary institution located in Caronport, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is comprised of a college, a seminary, and Briercrest Christian Academy, formerly known as Caronport High School. The institution began as Briercrest Bible Institute, founded on October 19, 1935, by Henry Hildebrand and Sinclair Whittaker with an initial enrolment of 11 students. The school originally operated out of a rented house that served as a dormitory, classroom, and office space. Hildebrand served as the principal, assisted by several staff including Annie Hillson, Isabel and Jean Whittaker, Margaret Rusk, and later Donald McMillan as assistant principal.In 1946, due to increasing enrolment and limited space, the institution acquired the former RCAF Station Caron, a World War II air training base, for \$50,000. This facility was converted into a campus with dormitories, classrooms, and staff housing. Enrolment steadily increased over the years, with 285 students in 1970 and 775 by 1985. The institution reached its peak in 2002 with 869 students in the college and 247 in the seminary, and in 2003, it was renamed Briercrest College.In recent years, however, the institution has faced declining enrolment and financial difficulties. By 2019, Briercrest Christian Academy had 141 students, the college had 489, and the seminary had 286. This downward trend in student numbers contributed to ongoing financial instability, with budget deficits reported at \$1.18 million in 2017, \$2.26 million in 2018, and \$2.17 million in 2019. Despite these challenges, Briercrest continues to provide Christian-based education and training, maintaining its presence as a significant institution in the region's educational landscape.
