COURSE CURRICULUM

The Information Technology Systems Diploma program offers a four-term curriculum designed to equip students with the technical skills and knowledge needed for success in the IT industry. In Term 1, students build a strong foundation with courses such as Introduction to Project Teams and Technical Communications for Software Development, Introduction to Information Technology Business Analysis, Programming Fundamentals, Introduction to Networks, and Introduction to Hardware and Operating Systems. These courses cover essential programming, networking, hardware, and communication skills required for IT roles. Term 2 deepens students’ understanding with courses in Information Security, Networking Protocols and Concepts, Introduction to Open Source System Servers, Microsoft Windows Administration, and Fundamentals of Virtualization. This term emphasizes security, server management, and virtualization technologies. In Term 3, students explore advanced networking concepts and system administration through courses like Service and Change Management, Networking Concepts, System Server Administration, Microsoft Windows Administration, and Fundamentals of Storage and Cloud Computing. These courses prepare students to manage and support complex IT environments. Term 4 focuses on advanced technical skills and practical application, with courses including Project Teams and Technical Communications, Scripting and PowerShell, Advanced Networking Concepts, Information Technology Lab, and a capstone project. The capstone integrates learning by challenging students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios, preparing them for entry into the workforce. The program also includes several zero-textbook-cost and PLAR-eligible courses, making it accessible and affordable. Graduates will be ready to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and contribute to IT projects, positioning them for careers in various IT roles such as system administration, network support, and IT business analysis.
