COURSE CURRICULUM

This health data analytics program offers a four-term curriculum designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to analyze and manage data in the health care industry. In Term 1, students begin with foundational courses such as Communication for Digital Professionals, Programming for Data Analysis, Manipulating Data Using Foundational Tools, Designing Data for Health Research Projects, and Mathematics for Data Analysis. These courses provide essential programming, data manipulation, and mathematical skills tailored for health data applications. Term 2 focuses on improving health care quality and ethical data management, alongside courses in acquiring and preparing data and working effectively in organizations. These courses develop students’ understanding of health care systems, ethics, and data preparation techniques essential for accurate analysis and decision-making.In Term 3, students advance their expertise with Relational Databases, Analyzing Data, Health Information Management, and Using Data for Decision Support. These courses emphasize practical skills in managing complex health databases and applying data insights to support clinical and administrative decisions. Term 4 centers on data visualization, health informatics, program evaluation, and culminates in a Health Data Analytics Capstone project. The capstone allows students to apply their learning to real-world health care challenges, providing actionable data-driven solutions. With several zero-textbook-cost and PLAR-eligible courses, the program is accessible and affordable. Graduates gain hands-on experience in predictive and visual analytics, relational databases, and data quality improvement, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to data-driven health care organizations and improve patient outcomes through informed decision-making.
