COURSE CURRICULUM

The Foundation in Entertainment Arts certificate program consists of three terms designed to build foundational skills in various artistic disciplines and prepare students for advanced studies in animation, modeling, visual effects, or game development. In Term 1, students focus on core skills such as sketching for communication, digital photography, figure drawing, and figure sculpting, which develop their ability to observe and represent the human form and other subjects effectively. Term 2 continues to build artistic techniques with courses in color and design, head sculpting, head drawing, and traditional painting, helping students refine their understanding of form, color theory, and visual storytelling. In the final term, Term 3, students engage in more specialized and industry-focused courses including a capstone project centered on creature sculpting, 3D pipeline fundamentals, game design, and learning about the roles and responsibilities within entertainment arts departments. This combination of hands-on training, artistic development, and industry knowledge equips students with the technical and creative skills needed to build a strong portfolio. The curriculum emphasizes practical experience with industry-standard software and workflows, ensuring graduates are prepared for further education or entry-level roles in the entertainment arts industry.
