Hospitality Management Program at Avalon Community College, students have the opportunity to earn specialized certifications through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute, enhancing their professional credentials and career readiness. The Rooms Division Specialization Certificate is awarded upon completion of five key courses, including Supervision in the Hospitality Industry, Managing Front Office Operations, Managing Housekeeping Operations, Security and Loss Prevention, and Managing Technology in the Hospitality Industry. This certificate provides students with focused expertise in front office and housekeeping management, security protocols, and the effective use of technology to optimize operations within lodging environments. Furthermore, students can achieve the Hospitality Operations Certificate by completing a broader set of eight courses, which includes Supervision in the Hospitality Industry, Managing Front Office Operations, Managing Housekeeping Operations, Hospitality Sales and Marketing, Hospitality Today: An Introduction, Management of Food and Beverage Operations, Hospitality Industry Financial Accounting, and Managing Technology in the Hospitality Industry. This comprehensive certification equips students with an in-depth understanding of hospitality operations, financial management, sales and marketing, and leadership skills necessary for success across multiple areas of the industry.
