COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Global Business and Economy (MGBE) program at Algoma University is delivered over four semesters spanning two years, during which students complete 10 courses designed to build both foundational knowledge and specialized expertise. In the first two terms, students focus on foundational courses including Economic Analysis and Policy, Data Analytics, International Business, Global Supply Chain Management, Global Business Strategy and Leadership, and Research Methods. These courses equip students with essential skills and insights to understand and navigate complex global economic and business environments. In the following terms, students delve into specialization courses such as Global Labour and Migration Policy, Sustainable Energy and Environmental Policy, Agriculture, Food and Trade Policy, and Project Planning and Risk Analysis. These specialized subjects allow students to explore critical issues shaping the global economy and develop targeted expertise in policy and business areas. The program culminates in a Major Research Project during the final term, where students apply their accumulated knowledge to analyze real-world data and formulate evidence-based policy or business recommendations. This practical, hands-on approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared to address industry-relevant challenges, making them competitive candidates for roles in international business, policy-making, and economic analysis across various sectors.
