COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business of Esports Certificate at Algoma University is a comprehensive one-year, two-semester program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the rapidly growing esports industry. In Semester 1, students are introduced to the foundational elements of esports through courses such as ADMN 1706 – Introduction to Esports, ADMN 1707 – Understanding Esports Infrastructure, ADMN 2706 – Marketing Strategy for Esports, ADMN 2707 – Fundamentals of Esports Management, and ADMN 2756 – Production, Content Creation, and Broadcasting for Esports. These courses provide a strong base in the structure, marketing, and media aspects of the industry. In Semester 2, the curriculum advances into more specialized areas with ADMN 3706 – Education and Personal Wellness Within Esports, ADMN 3707 – Brand Activation and Sponsorship for Esports, ADMN 3756 – Event Planning for Esports, ADMN 4706 – Esports in the Global Market, and ADMN 4707 – Esports Law. This second semester deepens students’ understanding of global trends, legal considerations, event management, and personal development within the esports context. Together, the ten courses prepare students for diverse roles within the esports ecosystem, from marketing and management to content creation, legal advisory, and international business development.
