COURSE CURRICULUM

The Associate of Arts (International Relations) Degree is a two-year foundational undergraduate program comprising a total of 60 credits, designed to be completed over approximately two years of full-time study. The program is structured to provide students with a broad and interdisciplinary academic base that prepares them for further university-level study in international relations or related fields. It includes a combination of breadth requirements alongside core disciplinary studies, ensuring students gain both general academic exposure and subject-specific knowledge. Required areas of study typically include economics, sociology, political science, international studies, history, and Asian studies, allowing students to develop a well-rounded understanding of how societies, governments, and global systems function and interact. Through economics, students gain insight into how resources are distributed and how global markets operate. Sociology introduces the study of social behaviour and institutions, while political science focuses on governance, policy, and power structures. International studies and history provide context for understanding global developments and historical events that shape current international relations, and Asian studies offers regional expertise in one of the most significant areas of global economic and political activity.
