COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Theology program at Acadia offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to integrate biblical studies, Christian thought, practical theology, ministry experience, and liberal arts education. The biblical studies component includes courses such as Journey through the Christian Scriptures 1 and 2, Introduction to the Christian Bible, and more focused studies like Introduction to the Old Testament and New Testament, along with courses on interpreting the Bible. Christian thought is explored through courses like Introduction to Christian History, World Christianity, Women in the Christian Tradition, Basic Christian Beliefs, Christian Theology, and Christian Ethics. Practical theology courses prepare students for ministry through Transformational Discipleship Ministry, Evangelism and Mission, Theology and Practice of Racial Justice, Pastoral Care, Preaching, Christian Worship, and Spiritual Formation for Ministry Leaders. Students also gain hands-on experience in ministry through Serving Experience courses. Additionally, the program includes liberal arts courses from arts, professional studies, or pure and applied sciences to provide a well-rounded education. Electives can be chosen from any faculty, including theology, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. The program totals 90 credit hours, combining academic, practical, and experiential learning to prepare students for effective ministry and leadership in diverse contexts.
