COURSE CURRICULUM

In your first year studying philosophy at Acadia University, you will begin by taking 6 credit-hours of introductory philosophy courses at the 1000 level, which will lay the groundwork for developing your critical thinking, logical reasoning, and argumentative writing skills. These courses introduce you to fundamental philosophical questions and approaches, helping you explore topics such as ethics, knowledge, free will, and the nature of reality. Alongside your philosophy courses, you will take 24 credit-hours of electives, which allow you to explore a broad range of subjects and begin fulfilling your Arts Core requirements. These may include courses in English, science, social sciences, or other disciplines that interest you.
