COURSE CURRICULUM

This 160-credit-point Master of Teaching (Secondary) program is designed to prepare graduates for professional teaching careers in secondary education through a structured combination of core studies and curriculum specialisation. The core component accounts for 110 credit points and provides essential knowledge in education theory, pedagogy, classroom management, assessment practices, and professional teaching standards. These core subjects ensure students develop a strong foundation in understanding how adolescents learn and how to effectively design and deliver engaging learning experiences in secondary school settings. In addition to the core studies, students complete alternate subject components that allow them to specialise in two teaching areas through Curriculum 1 and Curriculum 2 streams. These curriculum subjects are aligned with school teaching areas such as English, mathematics, science, humanities, or other approved disciplines, depending on the student’s undergraduate background and chosen teaching specialisation. This structure ensures that graduates are equipped with both broad professional teaching skills and in-depth subject expertise required for classroom teaching.
