COURSE CURRICULUM

This 160-credit-point program in public health nutrition is designed to build advanced knowledge and applied skills in nutrition, health promotion, and population health. The structure includes a 20-credit-point core component that provides foundational understanding in research methods and applied public health principles, along with a 20-credit-point Research Capstone Pool where students complete a research project or professional topic to apply their learning in a real-world or academic context. A key feature of the program is the 40-credit-point core sequence, which includes Community and Public Health Nutrition, Health Systems and Policy, Nutritional Assessment Methods, and Nutrition Promotion. These subjects develop a strong understanding of population nutrition, health systems, policy frameworks, assessment techniques, and evidence-based health promotion strategies. The program also includes an 80-credit-point Alternate Pool, offering flexibility for students to tailor their studies based on their interests and career goals. This pool includes subjects across public health, epidemiology, health systems, sustainability, agriculture, data science, and related interdisciplinary areas. Overall, the program combines scientific knowledge, policy understanding, research capability, and practical application to prepare graduates for careers in public health nutrition, health promotion, policy development, research, and community health practice.
