COURSE CURRICULUM

The Agricultural Science program is a 160-credit-point postgraduate degree designed to provide advanced knowledge and practical skills in modern agriculture, biotechnology, and sustainable production systems. The structure includes a 20-credit-point core component that introduces essential concepts in agricultural systems and technologies, along with a 20-credit-point Research Capstone Pool that allows students to apply their learning through a research or industry-focused project. A key part of the program is a 40-credit-point core block consisting of Agricultural Biosecurity, Agricultural Biotechnology, Agricultural Technologies, and Livestock Production Systems, which together build strong foundational expertise in contemporary agricultural science and innovation. These subjects equip students with an understanding of food production systems, animal science, biological innovation, and technology-driven agricultural practices. In addition to the core, students complete an 80-credit-point Alternate Pool, which is divided into Alternate Pool 1 (40 credit points) and Alternate Pool 2 (40 credit points). This flexible structure allows students to tailor their studies according to their interests and career goals, potentially focusing on areas such as advanced agricultural practices, sustainability, or specialised industry applications.
