COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (Health Services Management) is a 160-credit-point postgraduate program designed to develop advanced knowledge and leadership skills in health service planning, policy, and management. The structure is flexible and allows students to complete the degree through 1-year, 1.5-year, or 2-year pathways depending on prior qualifications and experience. The core component includes 40 credit points of essential subjects such as Advanced Health Service Management, Health Services Financing, Quality and Safety, and Health Systems Planning and Evaluation, which provide a strong foundation in healthcare leadership and system-level decision-making. An additional 40 credit points are allocated to alternate subjects for students in the 1.5-year and 2-year pathways, allowing them to specialise further. These electives are organised into special focus groups such as Human Resources, Project Management, Aged Care Management, and Research, as well as broader alternate subject options covering areas like epidemiology, digital health, governance, policy, biostatistics, and health promotion. Students can tailor their studies by selecting subjects aligned with their career goals, whether in management, research, policy development, or clinical leadership.
