COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering program is structured as a 160-credit-point postgraduate degree designed to develop advanced technical expertise, professional engineering competence, and industry readiness. The core component consists of 60 credit points and includes essential subjects such as Specialised Software Applications and Sustainable Systems, along with Engineering Project 1 (PG) and Engineering Project 2 (PG). It also includes a compulsory 12-week Industrial Experience (PG), which is a requirement for Engineers Australia accreditation and provides students with practical exposure to real engineering environments. The discipline-specific Master of Engineering component contributes 70 credit points, where students build advanced knowledge in their chosen engineering specialisation through a selection of subjects focused on modern engineering systems. In addition, students complete 70 credit points of alternate subjects by selecting seven advanced courses from areas such as Advanced Control Systems, Advanced Dynamic Systems, Advanced Electrical Machines and Drives, Advanced Mobile Robotics, Advanced Robotics, Mechanical System Design, and Mechatronic System Design. These subjects allow students to tailor their learning toward specific technical and career interests while strengthening interdisciplinary engineering skills. Finally, the program includes 30 credit points of level 7 elective subjects, providing further flexibility to broaden expertise or specialise further. Overall, this structure ensures graduates develop strong theoretical foundations, practical industry experience, and advanced technical capabilities required for professional engineering careers in diverse sectors.
