COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Artificial Intelligence program is structured as a 160-credit-point degree designed to provide both core technical knowledge and flexible specialization options in advanced computing and data science. The core component consists of 120 credit points and includes essential subjects that build strong foundations in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data processing, and related computing disciplines. Students study key areas such as Visualisation, Natural Language Processing, Applied Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence Ethics and Organisations, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Network Technologies, Information Security Management, and Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence. The program also includes practical and research-oriented components such as the Postgraduate Capstone Project, Postgraduate Research Project, and ICT Practicum, which allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems and gain industry experience. In addition to the core units, students must complete 40 credit points of alternate study, which can be chosen either as a specialised testamur major or as individual elective subjects. Specialisation options include Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Web and Mobile Computing, enabling students to tailor the degree to specific career goals. Alternatively, students may select from a wide range of electives covering areas such as cloud computing, data science, cybersecurity, quantum computing, mobile computing, and software testing. Overall, the structure ensures a balance of theoretical knowledge, practical application, and specialised expertise to prepare graduates for diverse roles in the artificial intelligence and technology sectors.
