COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Screen Media is a 240 credit point program structured to provide students with a balanced combination of core learning, specialist training, and flexible study options for careers in screen content production and media industries. The core component, worth 80 credit points, introduces foundational knowledge and skills in screen media, including storytelling, production techniques, media theory, and technical competencies across film, television, online, and interactive platforms. The major component, also worth 80 credit points, allows students to develop deeper expertise in screen media production, including project development, production management, editing, and collaboration within professional creative teams. The program also includes 60 credit points of alternate subjects, where students choose between the Journalism stream or the Design stream. The Journalism stream focuses on investigative reporting, documentary production, and narrative storytelling, while the Design stream develops skills in visual communication, interactive media, app development, and creative design practices. These streams allow students to tailor their learning based on their career interests and creative strengths. The final 20 credit points consist of an elective space, providing additional flexibility to explore complementary subjects that enhance professional development or broaden academic interests.
