COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws double degree is a 400 credit point program that combines scientific education with a comprehensive legal qualification in a structured and integrated format. It consists of four key components: a core science component, a core laws component, science majors, and LLB alternate subjects. The core science component, worth 30 credit points, introduces foundational scientific concepts and develops basic skills in scientific inquiry, experimentation, and analysis. The core laws component, worth 160 credit points, provides a progressive legal education that builds knowledge in legal principles while developing skills in critical thinking, legal research, problem-solving, communication, and ethical and professional judgement. It also includes practical legal training in areas such as legal analysis, advocacy, negotiation, drafting, and understanding the relationship between law and society. The science majors component, worth 130 credit points, allows students to specialise in a chosen scientific discipline, developing advanced knowledge and technical skills in areas such as data analysis, modelling, and experimental methods. The LLB alternate subjects component, worth 80 credit points, provides flexibility for students to select additional law electives aligned with their interests and career goals, such as commercial, environmental, or international law. Overall, the program is designed to produce graduates with strong interdisciplinary expertise in both science and law, preparing them for diverse and specialised career opportunities across multiple professional fields.
