COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Environmental Health is a 240 credit point program structured to provide students with a strong foundation in environmental science, public health, and applied health protection. The degree includes a core component of 30 credit points that introduces essential concepts in environmental health and related scientific principles. A further 120 credit points of core subjects form the central part of the program and cover key areas such as anatomy and physiology in health, aquatic environmental management, microbiology, toxicology, air pollution control, occupational health and safety, disease prevention, food microbiology and safety, land degradation and contamination, environmental planning and regulation, and disaster and emergency management. These subjects equip students with the scientific and professional knowledge needed to identify, assess, and manage environmental risks that impact human health. The program also includes an 80 credit point elective space, allowing students to either complete a major, one or more minors, or select additional subjects from a wide range of university offerings, providing flexibility to tailor their studies. In addition, students undertake an 80 credit point elective major in Environmental Health, which deepens their expertise in environmental health issues, microbiology, toxicology, occupational health, and environmental policy and regulation. Overall, the structure integrates scientific knowledge, public health principles, and practical environmental management skills, preparing graduates for careers in environmental health, public health protection, safety regulation, and related fields.
