COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science (Agricultural Science) is a 240 credit point program structured to provide students with a strong foundation in agricultural systems, combining scientific knowledge with practical and industry-relevant skills. The program includes a 30 credit point core component that introduces essential concepts in agriculture and related sciences. A further 80 credit points of core subjects form the central academic foundation of the degree and include key areas such as Introduction to Agriculture, Animal Science, Soils and Substrates, Plant Production, Protected Cropping Technology, Animal Production, Agricultural Technology, and Agricultural Biosecurity. These subjects equip students with a comprehensive understanding of plant and animal systems, soil health, production technologies, and the management of agricultural environments. The program also includes a testamur major component, allowing students to specialise further in a chosen area of agricultural science, although the specific major pathway may vary. In addition, there is an 80 credit point elective space that provides flexibility for students to broaden their studies or pursue complementary disciplines aligned with their career goals. Overall, the structure integrates scientific principles, technological applications, and practical agricultural knowledge to prepare graduates for careers in farming systems, agribusiness, research, environmental management, and agricultural innovation.
