COURSE CURRICULUM

This Bachelor of Mathematics program is structured as a 240 credit point degree designed to provide students with strong theoretical knowledge and practical mathematical skills applicable across a wide range of industries and research areas. The Core component consists of 150 credit points and forms the foundation of the degree, covering essential mathematical areas such as calculus, algebra, statistics, mathematical modelling, computational methods, and problem-solving techniques. These subjects develop students’ abilities to analyse complex systems, interpret quantitative information, and apply logical reasoning to real-world challenges in science, engineering, finance, economics, technology, and other disciplines. The program also includes 10 credit points of Alternate Subjects, which allow students to select additional approved subjects that complement their mathematical studies or support a chosen area of specialisation. In addition, students complete 80 credit points of Elective Space, providing flexibility to broaden their academic experience or deepen expertise in fields such as data science, financial mathematics, computational mathematics, computer science, education, or related scientific disciplines. This flexible structure enables students to tailor the degree according to their interests and career goals while developing highly transferable analytical and quantitative skills.
