COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of International Studies / Bachelor of Social Science is a 320 credit point double degree designed to provide students with a strong interdisciplinary understanding of global systems and social structures. The program is structured into four equal components: International Studies core subjects, Social Science core subjects, an International Studies major, and a Social Science major. The International Studies core, worth 80 credit points, introduces students to global issues, international relations, political systems, cultural diversity, and key global challenges such as migration, globalisation, and transnational cooperation. The Social Science core, also worth 80 credit points, provides foundational knowledge in understanding human society through disciplines such as sociology, human welfare, criminology, geography, and related fields, with a focus on analysing social behaviour and societal structures. The International Studies major, worth 80 credit points, allows students to specialise in areas such as Asian studies, global politics, international relations, or languages, enabling deeper engagement with global systems and cross-cultural understanding. The Social Science major, worth 80 credit points, enables further specialisation in areas such as sociology, criminology, or human welfare, strengthening students’ ability to analyse social issues and community needs. Overall, the structure ensures a balanced and integrated education that develops strong analytical, cultural, and research skills, preparing graduates for careers in international organisations, government, policy, community services, and global or social research fields.
