COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of International Studies combined with the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is structured as a 400-credit-point program designed to integrate global studies with comprehensive legal education. The International Studies component (70 credit points) provides foundational knowledge in global politics, societies, cultures, and international relations, helping students understand contemporary global issues such as globalisation, migration, and transnational interactions. The Law component (190 credit points) forms the core of the program and covers essential areas of legal study, including contracts, torts, criminal law, constitutional law, administrative law, equity, property law, and legal procedure. This component develops strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, along with professional competencies in legal reasoning and ethical judgement. The program also includes an 80-credit-point major, allowing students to specialise in a chosen area of international or related studies, such as politics, languages, history, or regional studies, strengthening their global expertise. In addition, 10 credit points are allocated to engaged learning pool subjects, providing experiential or applied learning opportunities that enhance practical understanding. A further 50 credit points of LLB alternate subjects allow students to pursue specialised legal interests and broaden their legal knowledge. Overall, the structure prepares graduates for careers in international law, diplomacy, policy, government, and global organisations with strong interdisciplinary skills.
