COURSE CURRICULUM

International Studies and Laws is a 400-credit-point qualification designed to provide students with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in global affairs and legal practice. The structure includes 70 credit points of core International Studies subjects that develop an understanding of global politics, cultures, economies, and international relations, helping students analyse how global and national issues interact. The Laws component forms the largest portion of the degree with 160 credit points of core legal studies, equipping students with essential legal knowledge, analytical skills, and an understanding of the Australian legal system, legal principles, and the relationship between law and society. Students also complete 10 credit points of alternate engaged learning subjects, which provide practical and experiential learning opportunities that enhance professional development. The program includes an 80-credit-point International Studies major, allowing students to specialise in areas such as global politics, diplomacy, or regional studies. In addition, students complete 80 credit points of LLB alternate subjects, offering flexibility to explore specialised legal topics or broaden their legal expertise. This integrated structure ensures graduates develop both international and legal competencies, preparing them for diverse career pathways in law, government, diplomacy, international organisations, policy development, and global business environments.
