COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of International Studies / Bachelor of Business at Western Sydney University is a 320-credit-point double degree designed to develop strong global awareness alongside professional business expertise. The International Studies component includes 70 credit points of core subjects that build foundational knowledge of global politics, international relations, and cross-cultural understanding. Students also complete a 10-credit-point alternate subject within this component, followed by an 80-credit-point International Studies major, which deepens their understanding of global political systems, diplomacy, and international interactions between societies, governments, and organisations. The Business component consists of 70 credit points of core subjects that provide essential knowledge in areas such as business operations, management, marketing, and decision-making in modern organisations. This is supported by a 10-credit-point alternate subject that allows students to tailor their learning within the business discipline. Students then complete an 80-credit-point Testamur Major in a chosen business area, such as Accounting, Applied Finance and FinTech, Business Analytics, Economics, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing and MarTech, Property, or Sport Management. This integrated structure ensures students develop both international perspective and business capability. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers in government, international organisations, diplomacy, global trade, and multinational business environments.
