COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Systems combined with the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is structured as a 400-credit-point program designed to integrate advanced knowledge of computing systems with a comprehensive legal education. The program typically consists of a large core component of Information Systems study (350 credit points) and a smaller component of law electives (50 credit points), allowing students to develop depth in technology while gaining foundational legal expertise. The Information Systems core focuses on designing, developing, and managing digital systems that support organisations and address real-world problems. Students engage with areas such as systems analysis and design, databases, programming concepts, digital transformation, project management, and enterprise systems, often through applied, industry-based projects. These projects require students to collaborate with organisations to create and implement solutions for practical business or community challenges, strengthening their technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) component provides a structured legal education covering fundamental and advanced areas of law, with emphasis on legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and professional practice. Students also build skills in advocacy, negotiation, research, and ethical decision-making through case-based learning and experiential opportunities such as clinical placements and work-integrated learning. Together, the program prepares graduates for interdisciplinary careers in information systems management, digital policy, cybersecurity law, and technology-driven legal services.
