COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at Western Sydney University is a 320-credit-point program designed to build strong technical, analytical, and professional engineering skills. The degree begins with a 60-credit-point core that introduces fundamental engineering concepts, including engineering computing, physics, engineering practice, mechanics, materials engineering, and electrical fundamentals. Students also complete Industrial Experience in Engineering, which provides essential exposure to real-world engineering practice and industry environments. In addition, students undertake mathematics subjects such as Mathematics for Engineers Preliminary, Mathematics 1, and Mathematics 2, depending on their entry level and readiness, ensuring a strong foundation in mathematical problem-solving. The program requires students to select a 200-credit-point testamur major, allowing specialization in areas such as Advanced Manufacturing, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering, or Sustainability Engineering. This major builds deep expertise in a chosen engineering discipline while maintaining a strong focus on applied learning and industry relevance. The remaining 40 credit points are allocated to elective study, which can include minors in areas such as Automation, Geotechnical Engineering, Structures, Construction Economics, Biomedical Engineering, and Sustainability-related fields. Overall, the program combines theory, practical training, and industry engagement to prepare graduates for diverse engineering careers.
