COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical Engineering major within the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at Western Sydney University provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in electrical systems, electronics, communication, and power engineering. The program is structured to develop a strong foundation in core electrical engineering concepts such as digital systems, circuit theory, electronics, signals and systems, microprocessor systems, and electromagnetics. Students progressively build expertise in specialised areas including communication systems, power and machines, electrical machines, data communications, digital signal processing, control systems, and power electronics. The curriculum also includes instrumentation and measurement, engineering visualization, and advanced digital systems, ensuring students gain both theoretical understanding and practical technical competence. In the final stages of the degree, students complete a major two-part capstone project (Final Year Project 1 and 2), which allows them to apply their knowledge to real-world engineering problems and demonstrate professional-level engineering capability.
