COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Construction Management Studies combined with the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is structured to develop graduates with expertise in both the built environment and the legal system. The program typically comprises 400 credit points, including a substantial core component of construction and law-related subjects, alongside a smaller allocation of law electives. The Construction Management Studies core (350 credit points) focuses on developing strong technical, analytical, and practical skills required in the construction industry. Students study areas such as building technology, construction methods, materials science, project planning, cost management, sustainability, contract administration, and site management. These subjects are designed to be closely aligned with industry needs and are reinforced through applied learning and professional practice experiences, enabling students to understand how construction projects are planned, executed, and managed in real-world settings. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) component (50 credit points of alternate subjects) provides a rigorous legal education focused on foundational and advanced areas of law, including legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and professional legal practice. Students also develop key skills in advocacy, negotiation, research, and ethical decision-making. The combined structure ensures graduates are well-prepared for multidisciplinary careers, particularly in construction law, contract management, infrastructure development, and regulatory compliance, offering strong employability across both construction and legal industries.
