COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Communication combined with the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is structured as a 400-credit-point program designed to integrate media, communication, and legal studies into a single interdisciplinary qualification. The Communication component (80 credit points) provides foundational knowledge in communication theory, media practices, and professional communication skills. Students develop the ability to analyse diverse media environments and produce communication outputs through applied and collaborative learning approaches. The Law component (190 credit points) forms the core of the legal education and includes compulsory subjects covering key areas such as contracts, torts, criminal law, constitutional law, administrative law, property law, equity, and legal procedure. This component builds strong skills in legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, research, and critical analysis, alongside professional capabilities in advocacy and ethical judgement. The program also includes an 80-credit-point major, allowing students to specialise in a chosen communication-related discipline such as media, public relations, or journalism, thereby strengthening their expertise and career focus. In addition, 50 credit points of LLB alternate subjects enable further legal specialisation in areas of interest. Overall, the structure is designed to produce graduates with a unique blend of legal and communication skills, preparing them for careers in media, corporate communication, policy, public relations, and legal practice.
