COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) double degree is a 420 credit point program that integrates the study of human behaviour with a comprehensive legal education. The core component (370 credit points) forms the foundation of the program and combines psychology and law subjects to develop a strong interdisciplinary skill set. In psychology, students study key areas such as cognition, developmental psychology, social psychology, personality, brain and behaviour, research methods, and abnormal psychology. These subjects build an understanding of human thought, emotion, and behaviour, along with strong analytical and research skills. The law component covers core legal disciplines including criminal law, contracts, torts, constitutional law, administrative law, equity and trusts, property law, legal ethics, dispute resolution, and legal research, preparing students for professional legal practice. Together, these core studies develop critical thinking, communication, ethical judgement, problem-solving, and professional awareness. The program also includes 50 credit points of LLB alternate subjects, allowing students to specialise in areas such as human rights law, family law, corporate law, mental health law, or clinical legal practice. Overall, the structure provides both depth and flexibility, equipping graduates with strong interdisciplinary expertise for careers in law, psychology-related fields, public policy, community services, and further advanced study.
