COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts combined with the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is structured as a 400-credit-point program designed to integrate broad humanities study with professional legal education. The Arts component (40 credit points) provides foundational knowledge in critical thinking, communication, and cultural understanding, helping students engage with social, political, and global issues. The Law component (190 credit points) forms the core of the degree and includes essential legal subjects such as contracts, torts, criminal law, constitutional law, administrative law, property law, equity, and legal procedure. This ensures students develop strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, along with professional competencies in legal reasoning and ethical judgement. The program also includes an 80-credit-point major, allowing students to specialise in a chosen Arts discipline such as sociology, history, psychology, communication, or political science, strengthening their academic and career focus. In addition, a 40-credit-point minor provides further flexibility and interdisciplinary learning, enabling students to broaden their knowledge in another complementary field. The 50-credit-point LLB alternate subjects allow students to explore specialised areas of law and deepen their legal expertise. Overall, the structure is designed to produce well-rounded graduates with strong skills in both the humanities and law, preparing them for careers in legal practice, public service, policy, media, education, and other professional fields requiring critical and analytical thinking.
