COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws is a 400-credit-point double degree designed to provide students with a strong interdisciplinary education in humanities and legal studies. The structure includes 200 credit points of core subjects that combine foundational arts and law learning. The Arts core develops skills in critical thinking, communication, and cultural understanding through subjects such as Australian politics and active citizenship, academic English, diversity and culture, and critical analysis of texts and society. The Law core provides a comprehensive grounding in legal principles and practice, including Fundamentals of Australian Law, Criminal Law, Contracts, Torts, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Equity and Trusts, Property Law, Civil and Criminal Procedure, Remedies, and Professional Legal Ethics. In addition, students complete an 80-credit-point Arts major, allowing them to specialise in disciplines such as criminology, international relations, languages, sociology, psychology, or creative writing, among many others. The program also includes a 40-credit-point Arts minor, further broadening academic exposure and interdisciplinary understanding. Finally, students complete 80 credit points of LLB alternate subjects, enabling them to tailor their legal education through electives such as human rights law, corporate law, environmental law, international law, clinics, internships, and advocacy. This flexible structure prepares graduates for diverse careers in law, policy, media, education, and global affairs.
