COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program is structured as a 400 credit point degree designed to provide both a comprehensive legal education and flexibility for interdisciplinary study. The core component (310 credit points) forms the foundation of the program and covers essential areas of law such as criminal law, contracts, torts, constitutional law, administrative law, equity and trusts, property law, legal ethics, dispute resolution, and advanced legal research. This core develops strong skills in legal reasoning, critical analysis, problem-solving, communication, and ethical judgement, preparing students for professional legal practice. The program also includes 10 credit points of alternate subjects, allowing students to broaden their academic experience through selected interdisciplinary learning. In addition, 30 credit points of alternate accounting subjects provide exposure to financial and commercial concepts, strengthening graduates’ understanding of business environments and enhancing employability in corporate and financial legal contexts. The remaining 50 credit points are dedicated to LLB alternate subjects, enabling students to specialise in areas of interest such as corporate law, human rights, technology law, international law, environmental law, or clinical legal practice. Overall, the program structure ensures a balance between core legal training and flexible study options, equipping graduates with both professional legal expertise and adaptable skills for careers in law, business, government, and policy sectors.
