COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Laws combined with Accounting is a 400-credit-point program designed to develop expertise in both legal practice and financial systems, preparing graduates for careers in law, accounting, and corporate advisory roles. The structure includes 280 credit points of core subjects that provide a strong foundation in legal studies, accounting principles, and business knowledge. Law units cover key areas such as Fundamentals of Australian Law, Criminal Law, Contracts, Torts, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Equity and Trusts, Property Law, Civil Procedure, and Criminal Procedure, while also developing skills in legal analysis, advocacy, ethics, and dispute resolution. The accounting and business component includes subjects such as financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, corporate accounting systems, accounting information systems, economics, and corporate financial management, ensuring students understand financial reporting, governance, and business operations. Students also complete alternate subjects in areas such as statistics or economic methods, along with 30 credit points of specialised accounting electives including financial planning, insurance, retirement planning, and superannuation. In addition, the program includes 80 credit points of LLB alternate subjects, allowing students to specialise in diverse legal fields such as corporate law, taxation law, human rights, international law, environmental law, and legal clinics or internships. This integrated structure equips graduates with strong multidisciplinary skills for professional practice in law, accounting, consulting, and regulatory environments.
