COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Project Management at Victoria University is a 192-credit-point postgraduate program structured into 120 credit points of core studies and 72 credit points of electives. It is designed to build advanced knowledge and applied skills in managing projects across diverse industries. In Year One, students complete core units including Fundamentals of Project Management (EPM6001), Project Governance (EPM6002), Project Management Research Methods (EPM6003), Project Management and People (EPM6004), and Project Management and Information Technology (EPM6005). Students also select 36 credit points from approved electives to broaden their professional understanding. In Year Two, the core focus shifts to advanced practice with units such as Principles of Project Management (EPM7004), Project Risk Management (EPM6006), and Project Planning and Control (EPM6007). Students then undertake a research component worth 24 credit points, choosing either Applied Research Project A and B (EPM7001 and EPM7002) or a Research Thesis (EPM7003), depending on their pathway. The remaining 36 credit points are completed through electives such as Leadership (BMO6050), Managing Innovation and Entrepreneurship (BMO6622), Project Construction Management (EPM6008), Project Stakeholder Management (EPM6011), and Project Program and Portfolio Management (EPM6013). Overall, the course combines theory, research, and industry-focused learning to prepare graduates for leadership roles in project management across multiple sectors.
