COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Construction Management at Victoria University is a 192-credit-point postgraduate program structured to combine advanced coursework, professional industry experience, and research-based learning. The course includes 96 credit points of core studies, 48 credit points of professional experience placement, and 48 credit points dedicated to a capstone research project. In the first year, students develop specialist knowledge in key construction management areas through units such as Construction Project Management, Risk Management and Decision Making, Strategic Construction Procurement, and Sustainable Infrastructure Construction and Management. The curriculum also explores modern technological advancements shaping the construction industry, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, System Dynamics Modelling, and Advanced Digital Construction. These subjects provide students with practical skills in project planning, cost estimation, risk analysis, procurement strategies, and the application of digital technologies in construction environments. In the second year, students complete a substantial Professional Experience Placement, gaining real-world exposure to industry practices and professional project management processes. They also undertake an independent Research Project, allowing them to investigate a specialised construction management topic and apply advanced analytical and research skills.
